SHARKS

The show that aired this afternoon Sat.March 14, you were fishing for mako and hammer head sharks. then you switched to salmon sharks some where in Alaska. Just how big were the salmon sharks? Also was that a PENN Reel you were using on the standup gear? Really enjoyed the show.

Hi BT
Glad you enjoyed the sharking. Not sure of the size of the salmon sharks as I don't like bringing them aboard or killing them.
I caught about 15 of them one day and I'd say they had to average over 400 lbs.
In the lemon shark flats footage I was using an old Penn the captain had on his boat. I loaded it with line heavy enough that it didn't matter that the drag was lousy, and totally frozen!
best,
L
