fishing in Trinadad

I am thinking of taking a trip to Trinadad for tarpon and billfish. Have you ever fished there and do you have any helpful advice in fishing there?

I really enjoy your show and especially the part on tackle making.

hi skeet,
I've never fished trinidad, but have fished all around it, including several weeks in the Orinoco delta. Plenty of tarpon I know, and not sure of the billfish. the pass between it and Venezuela, the mouth of the dragon, has to have some monster concentrations of monsters somewhere adjacent to it. Big tides, lots of water coming in from the amazon and orinoco into the gulf of pariah. I've seen a couple of TV shows shot there and it looks like pretty standard "deepwater" tarpon stuff.
sorry i couldn't be of more help.
best,
L
