Fishing North of Pearl Lagoon

Postby rjsaborio » Wed Jan 07, 2009 12:27 pm

Hi Larry,

I take a 4 day fishing trip to "top lock lagoon" every year for the past to years. we have had moderate luck having laded 5 tarpon in those 2 trips. This is going to be our 3rd trip; When do you think is the best month to go? What worked best for lures or live bait?

How can i get a copy of the show you did about fishing for tarpon in Nicaragua?

hi rj
I like it best any time not during the rainy season.
The area has many very differnt types of environments used by tarpon. Depending on where they are, and that includes the main river exits to the sea, I've caught them on every thing from flies, surface lures, swim baits, live crabs, jigging spoons, and lures. one of the keys in many of the places is to be totally sneaky. Park, watch, don't cast, don't even talk.
I'm furiously in the process of editing, and a bit behind, but I'm planning on getting all the previous 15 years material transferred to dvd within the next couple of months and hope to make the episodes all the way back to the early 90's available, including of course, all the Nicaragua stuff. Good luck, don't drink the water...
best,
L
