Cod rod and reel setup

what type of rod and reel setup for cod fishing. planning a trip soon and wuld like to know what type of setup is suitable. we will be jigging and using bait.

we are fishing in water between 100ft to 200ft off the northeastern united states. i will be heading off from connecticut.

I'd suggest a MH trevala jigging rod coupled with a trinidad 14.
