Shimano te700 for big snook

Postby whjohnson57 » Thu Sep 25, 2008 1:55 pm

Larry,

I absolutely love the show and can't wait for the new season. I would like to know if the shimano calcutta te700 would be a good choice for large snook fishing around bridges and inlets, with live bait. I have a te300, that I love to use, but would like something larger with more line capacity.

Thanks, Tim J

Although not quite as comfortable for normal size hands as the 300TE, the 700TE Calcutta will certainly perform well for what you are intending. You can load it with 100lb braid, or heavier and those snook won't know what hit 'em.
Either that or they'll jerk you out from under your hat and you'll end up blowing bubbles with them under the pier!
best,
L
