circle hooks for sharks vs j hooks?!?!?!?!

Larry,

Me and my dad both love your show and watch it every week. We saw an really old episode he bought back in the 90's. It was when you catching HUGE sharks. We have targeted big sharks in the last decade and always have used J hooks and it is a real pain to TRY and get out the hook(IF we can even get it out!!) we always release ANY sized shark. What do you think about using circle's for shark? One more question, what do you think would be the the heavyest sized single strand wire that you can tie with a haywire twist?

Circle hooks work great for sharks. Using them increases your hook-up rate. YOu can make a haywire twist out of any size wire if you're strong enough!

Thanks for the reply larry!! What size circle do you recommend? Maybe a 16/0 from owner? I have also heard that 14/0 work good too. What do you think?

Hey Big This is outtaline down in Sw florida try 16 -20/0 mustads they work great I have been using them on charters for years and havn,t had an issue and they cost about half.
