Halibut Jig

Postby kodiak2858 » Fri Jun 06, 2008 9:12 am

Larry: I like what you've done with the halibut jig, as seen on your program. One question: I use a corkscrew swivel for terminal tackle that I then fasten to my jigs. With your bicycle spoke addition, what keeps the line in position at the midpoint bend? From what I can see the line would slide up the spoke until it jammed against your spinner blade. Any advice would be appreciated!

hi K
If you get the eye bent just right and tie directly to the spoke (I use 130# mono and a 3 turn uni knot) surprisingly, it usually stays there. You're right, the terminal connector you're using would slide right to the blade.
To solve that problem, I have used a sleeve over both wires to close the loop, and that's 100%.
Good question!
