Hi larry,
saw your show last weekend / catching tuna behind the shrimp trawler. what is the best time to go? best guides? best time for tuna and redfish trip.

for a combo trip you will most likely have to wait until things warm up down there. we send them plenty of cold water from Minnesota via the Mississippi!

Larry, in your opinion, how close do you think some of the pelagics get to the river delta? I know certain fish run at certain times, but in a general sense...with my boat, I obviously wouldn't be able to make a long run offshore..

not close enough to get to in a small boat! We've caught tuna as shallow as 300', but rarely.

Just a comment to also consider Cocodrie, LA (pronounced coco dree). Nickname is Tuna Town. It's a similar drive from New Orleans, but a different road to get there. Some large inshore redfish there too.
