Best set up for Wahoo

Postby loopkey » Fri Apr 04, 2008 11:35 am

Hey Larry,

I'm looking for the right combination of reel and rod for wahoo in the 30 to 60 lb. range. I have penn 30s and 50s on ugly stick rods. These are great set ups, but they are seriously cumbersome. I know there are powerful-lighter set ups out there. What do you think? Later, Loopkey

hi loop
cumbersome is right!
there are so many better choices I don't know where to start.
I guess, at the high end you'd have to look at the torsas, at the lower end tlds and toriums, matched with a high performance rod that could range from a Trevala feather weight jigging stick to a stand-up stump puller design!
best,
L
