Hey Larry,
I read the previous string on this fly but still have a question. When you say you bend the hook at a 45 degree angle do you mean you bend the eye in towards the point of the hook or out away from the point? Also, is the wool wing tied inline with the hook shank or at a 45 degree angle?
Thanks

Dc

Ive been tying this fly a bit lately. Yes you bend the hook-eye toward the point and tie the eyes on top of the hook right in front of the bend. Complete the fly like a standard Gotcha. The effect it has it makes the fly stand on its head when at rest...rather than laying down in the sand.

Thanks Jay. Do you tie the wing on like a Gotcha...in line with the hook shaft? I think I read somewhere before that Larry ties it with the wing across the hook shaft...at a 45 degree angle.

hi dc
Tie it straight up, like on a parachute style dry fly. Include 4 silicone legs with tiny tiny tip of orange. Description of hook bend is correct.
good luck!
