Larry,
I'm planning a trip to the Outer Banks of North Carolina in early June. I've fished the surf and caught a few Speckled Sea Trout and managed to catch plenty of Skates from various piers as well as shark and Cutlass fish. A few years ago I Chartered an outfit out of Oregon Inlet and our boat managed to net a boat load of taylor blues which made a fantastic fish fry. I am really ready to catch some Big fish though. I really don't care if they are tasty or more like Boot leather. The bad part is I really don't think we will be able to scrape up the 1,200 dollars or so that it will take to be hauled out to the Gulf Stream. Any suggestions for Inshore, Surf, or Sound fishing that might produce some large fish in that region at that time of year? What should I be using in both artificial and live bait? Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks
Brian
