Shimano rods

Postby Max Estep » Sun Feb 24, 2008 7:21 pm

Hello larry,

I was just wondering what type of light weight and strong shimano rod would be good for a 20 to 60 pound class tuna....?

Hi Max,
Believe it or not, I'd say any of the Trevala series, from L to Med.
best,

What about the Teramar rod series ?

I've heard of people catching 60 pound tuna's on just the medium heavy model.....!

You got to go with the Trevala. You cant beat them when it come to the light weight and the power they provide. I hand mine to people all the time and tie the end of the line to my shoe and tell them to pick it up off the floor. They pull and pull and pull. They cant pull hard enough to break the 65lb braid, the rod, or my foot. I tell them if they break it i will buy them one. every time they walk away amazed!
