microballoons

Postby earl » Sun Feb 03, 2013 3:16 am

hey larry. im currently making a top water popper lure. I was wondering if you had a chart on how much microballoons I should add to my resin before I pour? I tried looking at the graph in the gallery but I don't quite understand. I wanna be as precise as I can be with the micro ballon measurements so everytime I pour its as consistent as it can be. need help please!...

I would suggest starting out with exactly the same VOLUME, not weight, of balloons to resin. Pour equal amounts of resin, by WEIGHT, into two different containers. Add, by volume, equal amounts of balloons to each cup. Stir both to get the balloons well mixed, then combine the two.
A 100% by volume mix should provide plenty of floatation.
If that's not light enough, you'll have to go to a foam.
