I'd use the smallest blades possible and add an ounce or more of weight, then crank them twice as fast as you would for muskies!
Best thing I've found for a lure is bright orange surgical tubing over wire!

Larry --- you said : "bright orange surgical tubing over wire" ,,,,,,, what if I placed a #3 inline (no clevis) blade just ahead of the orange tubing lure ??? ,,, would still have the speed/color/look with the addition of vibration ??? --- just thinkin --- MerryChristmas --- Jim

For barracuda, speed seems more important than vibration. It seems like a lot of work to use cowgirls formthis application. I like shiny spoons for barracuda because I can reel them very fast

On the other hand, big redfish like things that vibrate. I use big spinnerbaits made for northern pike and muskies.

I have found a Shimano Waxwing tied direct to wire to be very effective in many colors including green macral, blue metallic, gold metallic, etc... Speed and action seem to be the primary triggers. Also, larger models seem to attract larger fish w/o discouraging the smaller ones. The Waxwing also casts like a streight lead weight and holds up to dozens of barracuda.

Regards,

Andy
