Travel rod & reel

Postby Tbo291 » Fri Nov 30, 2012 2:05 pm

Will be spending a week in St Martin in February. Fishing for jacks, snook, and tarpon; suggestions for good travel rod and reel? 32" maximum breakdown length for rod.

Team up a Calcutta 400D loaded with 65# powerpro and a:
G.Loomis ETR81-3HC-20 Escape Rod 6'9"Heavy
ETR81-3HC-20
Length: 6'9"
Power: 1
Pieces: 3
Casting
A strong, powerful rod capable of handling tarpon, big snook, small sharks and other saltwater fish. It is made fairly short to allow for quick accurate casts in heavy cover and quick powerful hooksets when you need to move fish away from cover. When you want to move a plug for maximum commotion this is a perfect choice.
good luck! have fun!
