Hi Larry

I’m moving down to Alexandria Egypt will defiantly be visiting Lake Naser every winter for their Nile perch

I've got a IMX G.loomis 8'6" 2 12-25 1/2-3 Med Mod Fast what would be a good size 5000 or 8000 I'm going to be using 30lb power pro. as light as 20lb

thank you

The 8000 size should balance a little better on the longer rod, but you will have more than enough capacity with the 5000 size using that light of line.

My Sustain 5000 should be coming in Tus 15th 2012 after talking to one of the guys over Shimano, I think lighter is better, if sticking with 20 or 30lb power pro :)

Surf reel

I've never used the spheros, only the baitrunner. But if you are not interested in the baitrunner feature the spheros is a good price and you can't go wrong with a Shimano reel. You might want something a little longer the 7ft for the surf.
