How well have the waxwing baby models 88 and 68 been working in saltwater and how do you fish them?

They work well on the west coast. I use them to catch Calico bass, Yellowtail, Baracuda, Bonita...

I have heard good results on the Mahi/Dorado in the Gulf and Florida. I'm sure they work for stripers in the NE too. Redfish and tout eat them in Texas.

Cast and wind. Its a pretty simple process really. The key is fishing them with the correct Terez rod and with no leader. Tie your braided line directly to the lure. You can vary the speed a little if needed. For the most part the Waxwing will run right below the surface if you fish it at the correct speed. Some of the people in Texas are letting it sink then swim it, let it sink...but they are fishing a few feet of water.
