Hi M,
Hitting the peak of the peak billfish wise seems to be tougher each year.
As I'm sure you know the fish migrate along the coast dawdling where the find plentiful bait.
I've have great fishing in the south, from Feb 'til as late as May, but the best way to stay on top of what's happening is to keep in touch with the local captains via their websites. Check out the crocodile bay site as an example.
Regarding tarpon in CR, my favorite month is October.

im going to CR this spring to do some bill fishing and rooster fishing. is there anything special i need to bring? we have a friend with a boat down there and hes prety set up, but im just lookin ahead.
