Drug crime and Mexican bass fishing?

Has drug crime in mainland Mexico affected the bass fishing there? How safe is it to go there?

I have been wondering about that as well. I had an offer to go hunting deer in Mexico and I turned it down. I just don't know how safe it is anymore, and if I did go, it would not be with family. :cry:
I think my bucket list has a hole in the bottom!
