You'll want a bigger reel than a Curado 200 size. A Calcutta 400b would do the job a lot better. If you want to save a few bucks, the Shimano Cardiff is a decent option for a good price. You said you want an all-purpose rod, but depending on what baits you want to throw, the rod specs would vary quite a bit. If you want to use it mostly for pike, a medium or medium/heavy rod would work. If you want to fish a lot of muskies with bigger baits, a heavy action rod would work better.

I don't know if you like low profile reels. If you do go with the revo toro 60 or the shimano curado E. Great reels if you wanna palm and can handle anything. Now for rods go with med-heavy to heavy. All depends on what u want to throw. Muskytales.com has trophy tamer rods for $50 right now. good rod for the money
