Is there an alumilite recipe for the plastic and molding/process used to make something like the scumfrog; somewhat 'thin', kinda like plasti-dip but i think more durable?

Hi Steve,
The answer is a big yes. I've made a bunch of musky sized ones that work killer. I really need to get the instructions up on the makelure site because it's a little hard to describe, but I will try to do so briefly:
Mold frog shape of skulpy clay and leave a small hole across the butt, with a "pin sticking out" where you'll insert your rubber binder legs.
Construct a two piece mold with a bottom and top half. Also make sure your master has a hook eye in the front which will accommodate the hook when you put it in the mold. .
Place rubber legs through hole using a bent over wire to fish them through if needed. Lay in a pre-weighted hook (I use owners Monster hook) add some Flex 30, 40, or 80 Urethane to just cover the lead on the hook part way, and let it set. (if you pre warm your mold in the micro wave the flex urethane will set up in minutes)
Next, almost fill the bottom half of the mold with a new batch of rubber. Close and clamp the mold, then rotate it slowly for around 10-15 minutes. When you're tired of rotating it set it down in a belly down position and let it cure.
You have to experiment with quantities of Flex rubber to get it just how you want it, and of course make sure your hook choice fits your model and you've allowed for it in your mold. After you've made a frog you can also mix up another small batch of rubber and dip the frog to make the skin thicker if needed. Obviously the Flex urethane can also be died so you can pour a white belly, green top or what ever.
Good luck! It's a fun and actually very easy project.
best,
L

Larry,

I'll give that a try.
I've been searching for help on this for a long time.
I should have known you could help in a pinch.

Thanks a lot, you're the best!

Larry, IF I understand this proceedure, there are a lot of new toys a guy could do.

Can't wait to see a video of this proceedure.

Thanks.
I think my bucket list has a hole in the bottom!
