HI Larry: Was wondering if you ever fished in Thailand? I am heading there in a few weeks for Mekong Cats, etc.. Would you recommend a circle hook for the Mekong's when bottom fishing?
Thanks doradokil

Hi Bob
I've not fished there, but I would suggest a circle hook for literally any catfish.
good luck

Bob who are you fishing with?
I have been there twice and the way they fish for them, you will use a relatively small strong J hook.
You will use "special" bread ball rigs and the size circle hook you would need, wouldn't work in that style of fishing.
I caught a LOT!!!! of them and didn't have any hooked deep. They are also pretty strong and when the bit was hot
it will wear you out. If you can try and target the giant snakehead. They are the southeast asian version of a wolf fish!!!
They are one of my top 5 freshwater fish.
