Hi Larry, Caught the end of your show today, Tarpon in Columbia, I think. I was wondering what reel you were using?

Thanks...B

I was using the Curado 300 in both the original dsv version and the new E series.
Super reels!

Sorry to hijack this thread.. but, fishing for tarpon in Columbia sounds like harsh saltwater punishment. You used the dhsv and the e versions of the curado, my question is, of the curado is the older dhsv or the newer e version reel more resilient to saltwater environments? and is one or the other better suited for saltwater use? i always make sure to clean my reels off after use in saltwater and a few times a season i will do a more thorough cleaning job. p.s i also just got my cardiff 400 back from shimano reel servicing and i cant wait to use it.

Either reel will be fine for use in saltwater. As long as you take care of them they will last.
