under water cover

Postby muddywaters » Mon Apr 26, 2010 4:16 pm

I recently discovered a lake to fish but there is so much brush and standing timber and cover in the water I am having trouble fishing it, even with rubber worms rigged weedless. I understand that there are large mouth of termendous size this I know to be true haveing caught a 2+ and seeing a 3+caught and every one saying the big ones will soon be feeding. There is suppost to be big muskies, after slinging worms for 4 hours with no luck, i started thinking of the muskies and didn't know if I should be fishing in the cover or trying to fish the almost or more open water, never caught a muskie but would like to but can't aford to lose to many lures... i am starting to think poppers or divers with a Flie rod? since this is reasonably close to were I live now i'd really appreciate any suggestions?

Try tossing plopper type, zig zag, or buzzers in over and around all available cover! Use 65-80 power pro and a wire leader.
