Pike Flies/Tactics for Murky Water

Postby n2520v » Thu Apr 22, 2010 9:57 am

Larry,

We've got a large reservoir in North Central Montana that holds some really large pike. Primary forage fish in this lake is cisco, but the water is relatively turbid. The fisheries biologist for the lake has told me where the most big pike show up in the gillnets, so I've got a reasonable idea as to location. What patterns and/or tactics would you recommend for this scenario? There are easier pike to be had in Montana, but nowhere with a chance to catch really large Pike.

Thanks!

I'd try bright colored streamers and divers. Chart, orange, lots of flashabou.
