my fishery is the upper niagara river,I generally fish for smallmouth and largemouth bass,but up until last year i started to target muskie ,I dont have a boat and only limited to boat harbor and shoreline fishing for the early spring muskies what colors and style lure selection would you prefer for the clear niagara,also 100lb florocarbon or steel leader?and what times whould you fish?

I am a beginner of muskie fishing. for a beginner what rod and reel would you recommend? I have 5 lures and could you possibly hook me up with a couple of those "Whopper Poppers"?
