I am going to be fine with a 7 wt. rod for bass in MN. I'll be fishing mostly the rivers and metro lakes.

Thanks. I had a salesman at a local fly shop I really enjoy try to convince me that I'd be OK with a 7 wt, but an 8 would be "perfect."
