From securely anchored boat, (both ends anchored) drop unweighted crayfish to bottom and let him walk around controlling your line by "stitching" it between your fingers and not letting the tip bounce around at all. Obviously the lighter the line the better. Works best in calm (no current) water and on days where wind isn't too strong.
