what is the best lure?

Dear Larry,
Im going fishing by the seaside in barbados.Do lures work?Last year I caught a meter long sea turtle on a piece of king fish,but im hoping to catch a fish on a lure.What is the best lure?

I'd suggest topwater chuggers and spoon type stuff you can skim on the surface that can both be cast a mile.
or, floating out a live bait on a balloon.
