what does wind have to do with fishing for walleye? and is it a good thing to have on your side when fishing for walleye?

in my expirence wind may cause the bait fish to move, for instence on the larger lakes of northern michigan if its a wind and wavey day i tend to find marble eyes closer to shore then i would on a calmer day. if you are fishing walleye at depth this may play only a small variable, don't be afraid to cruise a bit and use your electronics to find the cruising schools of baitfish.
