What are the rods, reels, and that you recommend that will throw big bucktails and jerkbaits for big musky and northerns? We have several impoundments in my area inhabited by toothy critters but I don't have the equipment----yet.

I'd go with either a Calcutta TE 400 or 300, or a Curado 300E.
Check out the shimano musky sticks in heavy action around the 7' length.
