hi BN
I think the best knot is a nail knot, also known as a uni knot. It's super strong and can be used both for tying on a lure or for joining two lines together.
best,

i like to use the palimar knot when tying my hook to my leader. i was using an albrite knot to tie my braided line to my mono.we were using alot of slip floats, the float would slide nicely on the mono and we used the albrite knot and a bead to hold the depth.the mono usually got cut into with the braided line after very little endurance.i went back to the carolina rig bottom fishing and use a swivel to separate the mono and braid now.

Good call to loose the albright knot, it's only about 60% line strength.
