I haven't had much luck with topwater lures for Peacocks.
Give the Gander Mountain Twister tail yellow jig a try.
It is super deadly on Peacocks.
For me, curly tailed jigs and swimbaits at midlevel
water depth reeled in fast works best.

Miguel are you fishing in Suriname?
I believe the butterfly peacock is the only one you have there.
I have had good luck down there on woodchoppers.
Prop baits have been better for me over just straight walking the dog
lures. You really should try both to find a pattern. I don't believe there
is one right answer. You might even want to throw a subsurface minnow
bait i.e. x-rap.

Miguel,

I would use a 1/2 ounce bucktail jig for the peacocks in your neck of the woods. I would use it on spinning gear. Rather than the usual vertical rise and fall technique used for many species when jig fishing, I would cast the jig out and use an erratic darting retrieve like you would with a subsurface jerkbait. Also, I would use the Yo Zurk sinking cystal minnow in any chrome color and retrieve it erratically. Hold on!!!
