Late summer/early fall muskies..

Postby Gaebler20 » Mon Sep 21, 2015 6:23 pm

Larry, when fishing for muskies in the early stages of fall, like around the time water temp's hit the mid 60's, I know they'll still be shallow and fairly aggressive...but what about when it hits low 60's and starts dropping to high 50's..? Do you think they'll still be shallow still hanging around the green, or will they be starting to head back out to deeper water?
Going back to Mille lacs, and I really don't like the idea of cruising all around the south end of the lake...as you know, that's a very long way...

Green is always good, look for deeper green when the shallow stuff starts to die. rocks, neck downs etc. lots depends on whether temps are on the decline or incline, plus of course wind. Lake shape often dictates wind effect.
