Walleyes on Red Lake

Postby BigCaster » Wed May 28, 2014 10:15 am

Me and my family are taking a trip to Red Lake MN and we are wondering what bait would be best to use right now and what lures to use for catching some walleye? And if you have any recommendations on any hot spots? Thanks

Red is a very large, very shallow lake with some excellent cabbage. The location of the fish will depend on time of year, but the standard methods of rig and leech, slip bobber and leech, jig and minnow, spinners, trolling minnow lures are all great ways to end up with dinner.
Just be careful to stay in the designated areas that the tribe allows fishing, and don't leave your vehicle parked unattended at public launches.
good luck,
