Hi Larry: Been looking at the Daiwa Saltiga Lever 2 speed SALD40. Are you familiar with this reel? Looks like a winner for the monster cats? What do you think?
Thanks Bob 8)

Hi Larry: Not familair with the MN fishing club even though I would like to. I work at the Cargill Plant in Hammond, IN. Will however check on the club. Thanks for the info. Really looking forward for that catfish book to arrive. Also thanks on feedback on the reel I am leaning to for Suriname

HI Larry: Just received the Catfish Connection book. 8) Did you find the weight/length charts to be fairly accurate on pirarara and paraiba? Great show on the Columbia payara. A friend of mine recently fished Uramina Falls. I had heard of strip mining taking place but guess the fishing has come back. I know the old lodge burned down a few years ago, but new owners have rebuilt. Have your ever fished Uramina?
Thanks Bob

Yes, I would say the weights/lengths are a pretty accurate since they used may samples.
and, yes I have fished at uraima a couple of times. it's critical you are there when cupuro are running. very simple to fish. a couple of chutes with deep washout basins directly below them.
best
