One Piece Musky Rods?

I am thinking about making a Musky rod, and I thought I would support the cause and use Mud Hole, because I think we all need to all support/vote with our dollars. Anyway, as a bit of a rookie in rod construction I wanted to work from a kit. It looks like all/most the kits from Mud Hole are one piece, and I can imagine the hassles of transporting one. Is a one piece Musky Rod all that desirable?

It goes without saying that I love the shows, but specially the segments from the workshop…

hi dave
I really appreciate your support! Your question is an excellent one. In truth, due to the advancements in both materials and processes, the disadvantages that used to be part of two piece (or more) rods are no longer much of an issue, especially with heavier rods, and also if the ferrule is placed in the lower third of the black or below the hold out point. You are quite correct about the difficulty of finding both blanks and finished rods in the heavier actions with two piece designs. It is in fact something I'm working on right now with the guys at MudHole!
You will be both pleased and surprised at how easy it is to build a great rod and what a great value the MHX blanks are. I'll also predict after you build your first one it will not be your last!
good luck with the project, and thanks for the post!
best

Getting practically impossible to take 1 piece rods on airplanes regardless if putting in checked baggage or not. Have been using 2 piece heavy rods for a few years and definately will become very popular sooner than later. Glad to hear some great blanks will be coming out soon.
