Pike/Musky Reel

Postby Jnorby17 » Mon Apr 07, 2014 2:29 pm

Larry,

I'm in the market for a Pike/Musky reel. I would prefer a low-profile type, with the high line capacity of a round reel. I'm not looking to spend a ton, but want something reliable. Any suggestions? Thanks!

I asked the same question a few years ago and was steered to the Shimano Curado 300 by Larry's. Buddy Josh Stevenson. Have been thrilled with it ever since. Actually I now have a few of them. You can get them from Josh at Blue Ribbon Bait.

right now you've got 3 pretty good choices, the curado, the diawa lexa, and the Okuma 350 Komodo. check them out and see which best fits your needs and budget.

I got the Revo Toro Winch NACL so i'll let you know what I think when I get to play around with it.
