Hey how is it in Cleveland. I was born in North Omstead! Do you have flatheads up there? The few times I got the priviledge to go after Flatheads, it was in southeast Tennessee. What a blast, my favorite fish. We used Calcutta 400's with 40lb mono. and kept it real simple. Used a heavy duty Spro swivel with a flat river type sinker above it. 60lb leader if I remember right to a circle hook size 3/0 I think. I miss those fish.

Yeah we have'm in the resevoirs in south east ohio about an hour outta Cleveland. Im wondering if I should use Live or Stink bait. You hear all kinds. from worms to live Chubs, hot sausage, doughball with vanilla extract, mice. What do you all use for these monsters. Let me know.

Large, lively bait is your best bet although fresh cut shad, sucker or chubs can be effective in the early part of spring. All of that stink bait and such is a waste of time for big flatheads IMO.

Good luck!
