I have never fished for Musky and I am a poor fly fisher but let me guess just for fun. I say a 9-10 weight rod and definetely a wire/titanium leader.
How's my guess Lare?
Let's fish!

right on the nose! Either stranded wire and either crimped or twist-melted, or titanium.
I've caught lits of them on seven weights, but most anglers will have an easier time tossing the big flies on a ten weight.
Once you got them hooked, you could land them on a 4 weight, but the critical concern is choosing a rig you can cast a long way, all day long....
best,
