How do you fish a river eddy. i read that you should cast from upstream placingg the bait alonside of the eddy is this true. and that most of the bites come from the bait facing upstream?

hi eh
Depends on what you're fishing with and the way the water flows.
Seams are always important, and whether or not the eddy reverses itselt matters too.
I always like to get a bait to the top end first and work my way down.
I might anchor on either side, or slightly above, and cast or hover and vertical jig, depending on depth and what lure or bait I was using or what species I was after.
best,
