Making soft plastics

Postby Youngmusk » Sat Feb 03, 2007 3:04 pm

Larry,

I saw a program a few years back, about making soft plastic baits for muskies and pike. Forget how you made them. Could you tell me how and the materials I will need?

Thank You,

Hi YM
I use clay to make my model, RTV silicone molding compound to make the mold and the same plastisol that's used to make plastic worms.
The plastisol has to be heated before it will cure. I used to use a coleman stove but found a $30 microwave at Walmart that works much better. Use pyrex measuring cups to heat the plastic.
best,
