Fly fishing for muskies

Postby miket55 » Thu Mar 21, 2013 10:16 pm

A friend of mine made some killer popping type fles for musky/striper. Any thoughts on what sort of leader would be adequate? I have several different types of flouro, up to 130#. I'd like to avoid using wire on the surface stuff, and plan on using a 10 wt.

Thanks for any input.

Wire will affect the actiion much less than the heavy mono. Try twist melting nylon coated wire. Use either 30 or 45 pound wire.
Good luck!
