Dear Larry the King,
I shot a boat load of ducks this year...just letting you know ...
that being said...i have access to a private lake here in Ohio under the condition that i help the land owner make some artificial fish attractors. So..i was wondering what you would suggest for crappie and bluegill as far as say...the ubiquitous pile of last years Christmas trees?, a triangle of pallets ? a pile of cinder blocks etc, etc ad nauseum. I know sometimes anything is better than nothing but i also know some structures really hold fish but are difficult to fish around and visa versa. 10 acre lake. Max depth 20 feet.
Thanks for any help you may Provide!
All Hail Larry the King!!!
Sincerely,
Steel Neal The Fish Whisperer

Make something that will not catch your hooks. A PVC type tree with cement bottom will work. Lot of plans out there.

I'm sure pvc would be great but iwas looking to use wood so it can brow algae an attract the smaller food chain critters and then minnows etc...plus i hate to see anything that will not degrade put into the lake

the best I ever saw were made from several dozen bamboo poles placed about a foot apart and secured vertically.

The ones I saw were installed in low pool. they were simply driven deep into the bottom, tip down. something like a foot or two apart.
left a few holes in the patch large enough to submerge a feed cake the size of a manhole cover.
good luck!
