fresh water fish

Larry have you ever seen a fresh water river fish eat a small beaver?
I was sitting on the Ohio river on the bank in cannelton Indiana one night; watching a baby beaver swimming in circles about 20 feet from me whistling for it's mother; when there was an explosion of water and poof the beaver was gone. I watched a long time and never saw the baby beaver again . I never saw the fish and was too fast for a turtle; I was wanting to know what you think it could have been to eat a foot long baby beaver??????????

Muskies and I would imagine huge pike can and will eat both muskrats and baby beavers. I'd be tossing something big and hairy with hooks on it and retrieving it at baby beaver speed!! Maybe even whistle for mom.

I bet a big flathead catfish could eat a baby beaver. When feeding, they're aggressive predators with huge mouths!

I've caught some massive catfish while fishing topwaters at night for musky or bass. They have some of the most explosive bites ever.
