Hi Larry. I attended your discussion last month at the Angler's Marine Bass-A-Thon in Anaheim CA. I really enjoyed your talk. I have a question please. You mentioned Bass will move horizontally in and out of the shallows. When in the shallows they are there to feed. While out suspended they are sleeping. Am I correct that you will not target suspending bass? Can you elaborate more on this please? By the way a rare mention concerning sleeping bass/fish.

Hi D
Yes, bass often move in and out horizontally as it save them the trouble of re or de compression. Often, all fish sleep. They might be sleeping suspended or belly to the bottom.
Sure I target suspended bass, especially if they have pelagic forage available (which of course also suspends)
Check out some of the writings of John Hope in regards to suspended bass. He's made some very interesting observations, especially in regards to suspended ten pound plus fish.
best
