Mr. Dahlberg:
What kind of line do you recommend for trolling crankbaits (like spoonplugs) for northerns and largemouths? I've got a line counter trolling reel strung with lead core, but I'd be glad to swap it for braid or mono if it makes sense to do that.
The objective is to get a good bottom bouncing presentation at depths up to about 30 feet. Possibly as much as 35. I'd like to use as short a line as possible to do that because of the relatively small size of the lakes I fish.
I'd rather not use wire. But can you tell me how wire compares to braid for attaining depth?
