About the spoonplugging method, Buck's Baits is still in business to sell spoonplugging paraphernalia. I just bought a bunch of spoonplugs and a trolling rod from them. I thought it would be worth a try because Perry's methods are so well documented and thought out, and because they appear to have stood the test of time.
Now on to some of the artsy craftsy activities like making a bunch of markers.
