Questions about Freshwater Fishing

Labeo

Postby Ron » Wed Oct 24, 2007 4:20 pm

I live in Swaziland. Fish most weekends - barbel, tigerfish, bream.
The labeo, which we can see in the rivers, will not bite, this has been for over a year now. Help any ideas. The baits that have been tried -
chicken heart, crickets, corn, marshmallows, algae, worm, bread, cheese.
Quite a cocktail!! Fish do not even get spooked passing the bait to them,
Hope someone can come up with some ideas.
I have also caught a crocdile, the bait was intended for a barbel. Let me know if you want the pics.

Have you been able to observe what these fish eat naturally?

sorry, no idea. i'd try tossin small stuff, ranging from insects to corn meal and see what they react to. Also might have to stay hidden.
