kevlar leaders for toothy critters

I've been looking for some assist hooks to add to some of the jigs I use when muskie fishing.

I've come across some that have a short leader of 250# kevlar, will this work with toothy critters like muskies or do I need to go to a wire assist hook ?

Why not just use wire? It works great and it's cheap.

I've been doing some more "research" this morning while enjoying my morning coffee and have found more "wire" options so I think you are right on, why mess around, I'll just go with wire.

I tried kevlar as a substitute for wire when it first came out and found out the hard way that when a musky rakes it across his vomerine teeth it separates!
Stick with wire!

i had a buddy lose a musky on Kevlar when it first came out years back.i told him i had plenty of leaders, but he said he was okay 'cause it was super tough and can't cut this stuff with a knife etc..etc..and anyway he was using a spinner bait. well a musky inhaled the whole bait and was off in a second.i was laughing my butt off .he didn't think it was so funny. we don't fish together much these days
